E-Waste Pin/Pendant
My Consumer Culture Series is about how our throw-away society is affecting our environment. What part do we as individuals play in the destruction of the planet? How do we reconcile this with the desire to keep up with the newest and coolest gadgets (myself included)?I also question (in all of my work) what makes something precious? Why are some materials revered as precious, when other materials might be equally as beautiful... and maybe even more rare are not. I enjoy finding interesting components in the trash and setting them like a precious stone...and raising the question if using found objects devalues or adds value?
