Opalescent Ripple Pin/Pendant
My goal is to capture the moment when a single drop of water strikes the surface, creating ripples that spread outward in a mesmerizing pattern. I incorporate smooth, undulating contours to mimic the gentle waves formed by an impact. The surface shimmers with varying depths, creating the illusion of water in motion, as if frozen in time.
I combine the sculpted glass ripples with genuine moonstone, aquamarine, and abalone.
Moonstone is a mesmerizing gemstone known for its ethereal, soft glow, often displaying a bluish or silvery sheen called adularescence, which shifts as light moves across its surface. Aquamarine, with its serene, pale blue color, evokes the tranquil beauty of the sea, offering a clear, glass-like transparency that ranges from light blue to deeper oceanic hues. Abalone, a stunning iridescent shell, features a rainbow of vibrant colors—shimmering blues, greens, and purples—that reflect light in a fluid, captivating way
Cold-worked/hand-carved glass, handwrought sterling silver, and genuine moonstone, aquamarine, and abalone
