The Bubble Ring series is a playful exploration of water, air, and light trapped in motion. Designed to capture that effervescent, shifting quality of rising sea bubbles, this piece plays with deep, saturated colors and curious textures. It is a design that looks wonderfully spontaneous but relies on a thoughtful arrangement of shapes to sit beautifully on the hand.
I hand-fabricated the frame from sterling silver, building an asymmetric cluster of hollow, circular pods that sit directly above the main stone. For this particular variation, I chose a deep blue and purple cold-worked glass element, hand-engraving a series of dimples into the surface to mimic floating oxygen bubbles. Tucked right into the silver framework is a faceted, genuine amethyst that pulls the rich, royal tones together with an extra flash of brilliance.
With its sculptural depth and comfortable, wide band, this makes for an incredibly distinct statement ring. It functions as a wearable art jewelry piece that carries a lovely, lighthearted energy, perfect for collectors who love jewelry with an independent spirit and a touch of the unexpected.
