Blue Mermaid Ring

This piece is pure ocean energy—bringing together deep watery blues, shifting iridescence, and a touch of sparkle that feels like sunlight hitting the water. I wanted to design a ring that feels substantial and artistic while staying totally comfortable to wear.

The star of the show is a large piece of abalone shell showing off rich flashes of violet, deep teal, pink, and ocean blue. Nestled right against it is a faceted, deep blue kyanite stone alongside a bright, clear pop of blue topaz. To tie all these watery elements together, I hand-formed sterling silver "bubbles" across the surface, giving it a playful, fluid look that floats across the face of the ring.

I hand-fabricated the setting in sterling silver, tailoring the bezel edges to snugly hug the organic shape of the abalone and gemstones. The band is smooth, solid, and shaped for a secure, easy fit.
