This piece may appear serene and understated, but its creation was anything but simple. This piece comes from one of my most technically demanding series to date. Each glass element is meticulously carved into a delicate concave “bowl” that cradles asymmetrical gemstones—an incredibly challenging process that required precise carving, polishing, and smoothing of the interior without cracking the glass.
This series draws inspiration from the impact craters that formed on Earth’s surface millions of years ago. I’ve long been fascinated by the planet’s origins, often imagining what those colossal collisions must have been like. As the forms emerged, they also began to echo botanical shapes—small volcanic islands, ancient lake beds, and other natural basins carved by time. A visit to Oregon’s Crater Lake deepened that fascination and helped set this creative direction into motion.
The sterling silver band mirrors these softly eroded, organic contours, echoing both geological force and natural elegance. The result is a sculptural bracelet that feels like a tiny landscape—quiet, luminous, and rich with hidden histories.
Made of Carved glass, sterling silver, genuine pearl, whute topaz, and chrome diopside.
