FAQs

materials, durability, & care

How durable is your work?

My pieces are created by laminating multiple layers of glass, with the top layer being clear optical glass. This optical glass is not only highly refractive but also exceptionally durable. It is produced with platinum during the melting process, resulting in extremely hard glass that resists breakage. Laminated glass generally does not shatter upon impact because the interlayers hold it together.

What are your materials?

My work is made from a combination of glass, sterling silver, 18k gold, and gemstones. All the gemstones are genuine, and I try not to use any that have been dyed or irradiated. They are NOT crystals or rhinestones.

How do I care for my piece?

Always remove your jewelry before swimming, sports, or when using harsh chemicals, applying beauty products, or entering extreme temperatures. Store sterling silver jewelry in an airtight plastic bag to avoid tarnish. If your piece needs to be polished, use a dry rouge cloth on all highly polished areas, and a 3M scotchbrite pad on any matte or diamond surface. Glass cleaner can be used on a soft paper towel to clean glass surfaces. Tarnish removers such as Tarnex can be used but be careful to avoid contact with gemstones such as opals, pearls, or rough minerals, as harsh chemicals can damage delicate stones
