Holding Light Ring
The Holding Light ring is a study in asymmetrical balance, contrasting geometric clarity with organic movement. Designed around the interplay of light and shadow, the piece pairs two distinct diamond cuts against a fluid, sculptural landscape of precious metals.
At the focal point is a cushion-shaped rose-cut diamond (approx. 0.75 ct) with soft gray tones and natural internal characteristics, framed in a substantial, hand-fabricated 18k yellow gold bezel. Nestled immediately alongside is a crisp, brilliant-cut white diamond , approx. 0.08 ct in a matching gold bezel, creating a luminous contrast between the rustic, geometric facets of the main stone and the sharp sparkle of its accent.
I construct each piece starting with a structural foundation of sterling silver, shaping the band into a comfortable, undulating wave profile. I layer solid 18k yellow gold directly over the silver base, wrapping it around the entire band, and add details by engraved contrasting surface textures that converge asymmetrically as they draw the eye toward the twin bezel settings. The gold in my work is never plated—I shape each piece using solid sheets of raw 18k gold, which are hand-formed and soldered directly to the silver base for rich, lasting color contrast.
Solid, hand-fabricated construction—sterling silver base with solid 18k yellow gold elements (never plated; soldered raw gold).
Dual diamond setting—features an approx. 0.75 ct cushion rose-cut salt & pepper/gray diamond alongside a 2.8 mm (approx. 0.08 ct) brilliant round white diamond accent.
Hand-engraved 18k gold wrapping continuously around the entire band, featuring contrasting surface textures that converge asymmetrically near the offset bezel settings.
Intentional 18k gold selection for maximum color contrast against the polished sterling silver.
Sculptural, organic wavy sterling silver band engineered for comfortable daily wear.
