Storm Cloud Necklace

$0.00

The Storm Cloud Necklace captures a dramatic slice of weather in a wearable art jewelry piece. At its center is a piece of luminous carved glass, custom laminated with stormy, mood-shifting shades of steel blue and moody charcoal. I carved its surface to echo the turbulent, churning swells of a thunderhead, giving the glass a rich, sculptural depth.

To play up the electrical energy of a storm, I hand-fabricated the sterling silver setting to trace the cloud's jagged edges, integrating a stylized lightning bolt that breaks off to the side. Nestled right where the chain meets the focal piece, a single bezel-set white topaz adds a brilliant, clear flash of light—like a spark before the cloud breaks. The piece hangs from a sleek silver omega chain that adjusts easily between 16 and 20 inches, resting with an open, modern line right across the collarbone.

Because I shape and carve every piece of glass individually, no two pieces ever turn out the same. Every piece of glass is made by a process called cold-working, where the glass is carved at room temperature with no heat and is never liquid or pressed into a mold. If you want to learn more about my process and the durability of my materials, you can read the post, “What is cold-worked glass, anyway?” where I break down my entire process in my Studio Journal.

  • Hand-fabricated sterling silver, optically carved laminated glass, and genuine white topaz.

  • Sterling silver omega chain, adjustable between 16"–20".

  • One-of-a-kind. Crafted entirely by hand without templates or molds.

  • Signed and copyrighted.
