Candied Lime Earrings
The Candied Lime Earrings are a one-of-a-kind pair of hand-fabricated sterling silver and cold-worked glass drop earrings, featuring clusters of hand-carved glass in citrus greens, teals, and yellow suspended within open sterling silver bubble frames. The glass shifts between lime and aqua depending on the light — bold and playful, with the kind of movement that makes them impossible to ignore.
In this series, I am approaching the glass-making process differently by embedding multiple distinct colors within a single piece of glass, creating a horizontal mosaic beneath the surface. Instead of isolating one dominant hue like I normally do, several colors now co-exist within the same form. I play with the push and pull of color inside the glass beneath the top layer of optical glass, creating deep pools that shift and blend into one another before carving back into the finished piece to visually break them up again.
Because this new method is a slow, highly exploratory cold-worked process full of small surprises and technical challenges, every glass element behaves differently, ensuring that these precise color blends belong strictly to this one-of-a-kind pair.
