This design was created as part of my Reef Series, which draws inspiration from the vibrant colors, intricate textures, and otherworldly life forms that inhabit a coral reef ecosystem. The architectural silhouette subtly references organic marine structures, bringing a bold, modern edge to the hand while celebrating the fluid energy of the ocean.
I hand-fabricated the substantial frame and band from sterling silver, giving the custom setting a fine, matte texture that frames the central element beautifully. The focal point features segmented pieces of cold-worked glass, meticulously hand-carved to pull in light and showcase an iridescent gradient that transitions from a rich violet-purple into a bright, tropical teal. Nestled tightly alongside the main structure is a brilliant, water-clear genuine white topaz that adds a crisp point of reflection.
