I wanted to capture the feeling of looking at a massive block of ice catching the morning sun, balancing a sense of quiet stillness with an incredible undercurrent of light.
I hand-fabricated the architectural setting from sterling silver, shaping heavy prongs to secure the stones while keeping the structure open and modern. The centerpiece features a shard-like piece of cold-worked glass, meticulously hand-carved to mimic the crystalline, translucent depth of glacial ice. Right alongside it sits a natural, glittering druzy that sparkles intensely with every movement, evoking the look of fresh frost clinging to a frozen surface.
