Orbit Glass Rings (Multiple Colorways)
The Orbit Ring continues the exploration of balance and motion first introduced in the Intersecting Orbit series. A carved glass form anchors the piece, its layered color revealed through cold-working rather than heat, creating depth that shifts with light and angle.
Hand-fabricated sterling silver arcs wrap and intersect around the glass, holding it in a state of The Orbit Ring continues the exploration of balance and motion first introduced in my Intersecting Orbit series. This design features a highly architectural, three-dimensional structure that plays with open space, geometry, and the way shadows move across a form. It is a piece that feels entirely dynamic, changing character completely depending on the angle from which it is viewed.
I hand-fabricated the clean sterling silver arcs to wrap and intersect around the focal element, suspending the glass in what looks like a state of quiet orbit. The centerpiece is a block of cold-worked glass, meticulously hand-carved to reveal layered, variegated patterns deep within its material. In this orange variation, the glass feels warm and almost planetary, beautifully offset by a rich, genuine garnet nestled into the intersecting silver framework to add a sharp point of color and reflection.
This is an exceptionally bold statement ring built with immense sculptural depth. Operating as an expressive art jewelry piece, it is a magnificent collector's piece for anyone who appreciates independent studio design and jewelry that behaves like a miniature work of sculpture for the hand.
Hand-fabricated sterling silver, cold-worked carved glass, and genuine garnet.
Size 7.5 (approximate)
One-of-a-kind. Crafted without molds or templates, ensuring each color variation is completely unique.
