The Red Cross Current Ring channels the intense, kinetic energy of moving forces cutting across one another. Built with an architectural presence on the hand, this design relies on a multi-tiered layout that highlights contrasting textures and a fiery, saturated color palette.
I hand-fabricate the custom, split-level bezel framework and the substantial ring shank from sterling silver, treating the outer bezel walls with a hand-applied diamond texture that creates a brilliant sparkle and depth. Secured within this shimmering border are two independent, hand-shaped cold-worked glass elements. Each piece of glass features meticulously ground, undulating ridges across its surface that catch and bend ambient light, emphasizing deep fields of crimson and warm gradients. Nestled right along the dividing line is a clean, polished silver bezel holding a brilliant natural gemstone accent that focuses the visual movement.
Because I cut, carve, and polish every glass element individually in my studio, the precise alignment of the ridges and the depth of the colors belong entirely to this one-of-a-kind piece.
