Garden Party Necklace

I spent years avoiding botanical themes because I didn't want to make something that felt overly conventional. But nature eventually has its way, and when a fresh creative path opens up in the studio, you just have to follow it, lol. This collection is the result of letting my garden take the lead.

The Garden Party Necklace is a fluid, organic statement piece designed with a contemporary flow. At its center is a piece of luminous cold-worked glass, laminated and carved by hand to look like the spreading petals of a blossom. I fabricated the sterling silver setting to clean-frame the glass, perfectly tracking its outer contours, while a pearl, a rich rhodolite garnet, and a faceted amethyst cluster right at the top to add a bright pop of color and sparkle.

This design constantly plays with light and movement. By laminating deep colored layers underneath a clear optical layer, the glass acts like a prism, creating shifting glints and deep reflections as you move. The entire piece rests on a rigid sterling collar that stays perfectly positioned on the neckline, finished with an adjustable chain section that runs from 16 to 20 inches and secures with a handmade sterling safety clasp.
