The After the Storm Necklace focuses on linear texture, stark material contrasts, and subtle geometric transitions. By pairing deeply grooved, dark surfaces with bright precious metals, this design maps out a sharp, rhythmic composition across the collar line.
I hand-fabricate the asymmetric settings, the textured metal sections, and the stone bezels using a combination of sterling silver and 18k gold, treating the lighter metal surfaces with a hand-applied texture for a detailed sparkle. The main focal piece is a hand-shaped cold-worked black glass element carved with deep vertical ridges that catch and break the light. This dark, textured segment is joined by a contrasting, fan-shaped 18k gold accent section and two bezel-set genuine garnets that add quiet points of deep red reflection. The entire structural setting is integrated directly into an adjustable, handmade sterling silver chain.
Every glass element is cut, carved, and polished individually in my studio, ensuring that the precise ridge spacing, metal alignment, and dark glass depth belong strictly to this one-of-a-kind piece.
