Some pieces come from a specific feeling rather than a specific place. This one came from the calm that settles in after time near Caribbean water, that particular blue-green that sits somewhere between turquoise and teal depending on the depth, the way the light moves through it.
The glass is cold-worked and hand-carved with what I call the Equilibrium texture, a rippling pattern that follows the contours of the form. Two gemstone drops hang below, tsavorite and chalcedony, picking up the greens in the glass with a peridot accent..
