The Emerald City Pendant explores geometric suspension, organic mineral growth, and rich textural layering. By splitting the design into two distinct tiers, this composition isolates raw geological textures alongside deeply sculpted studio elements.
I hand-fabricate both custom bezel frameworks from sterling silver, treating the outer bezel walls with a hand-applied diamond texture for a clean, detailed border. The upper setting features a prominent, hand-shaped genuine rough emerald specimen that anchors the piece. Suspended directly below via a silver hinge loop is the main focal element: a hand-shaped cold-worked black glass component carved with deep, sweeping architectural ridges. The dark glass forms a dramatic border for a contrasting inlay of velvety, botryoidal malachite and a single bezel-set topaz accent. The top setting integrates directly into an adjustable, handmade sterling silver link chain featuring long accent links.
Every glass element is cut, shaped, and carved individually in my studio, ensuring that the flowing ridge lines, unique mineral formations, and material depth belong strictly to this one-of-a-kind piece.
