The Intersecting Orbit Necklace explores planetary forms, layered depth, and geometric motion. By pairing sweeping, handwrought metal arcs with a rich, carved fluid centerpiece, this design captures a sense of elements crossing paths in space.
I hand-fabricate the contoured main bezel and the intersecting open geometric rings from sterling silver, treating the outer bezel walls with a hand-applied diamond texture that creates a brilliant sparkle and depth. Nestled securely within this frame are carved layers of saturated violet cold-worked glass. The glass is finished with a vibrant iridescence, causing the intense violet tones to shift and catch the light as the piece moves on the body. An arrangement of three bezel-set gemstones—moonstone, rhodolite garnet, and amethyst—is built into the overlapping arcs.
To balance the composition, the piece features an asymmetric cluster of open sterling silver rings integrated directly into the left side of the double, sparkly sterling silver chain.
Every glass element is cut, carved, and polished individually in my studio, ensuring that the precise contours of the layers and the iridescent color play belong strictly to this one-of-a-kind piece.
