Part of the Impact Series, the Topography Pendant explores the powerful aesthetic collision between raw geological structures and meticulously shaped studio elements. By contrasting jagged natural mineral faces with fluid, carved contours, this design charts a captivating landscape of texture and light.
I hand-fabricate the structural bezel framework and the wide, textured accent bale from sterling silver, treating the outer bezel walls with a hand-applied diamond texture that creates a brilliant sparkle and depth. Nestled at the core of the piece is a hand-shaped cold-worked glass element finished with a brilliant iridescence that flashes golden and mossy green hues as it catches the light. The glass is intricately engraved to echo the sweeping lines of a topographical map, crashing directly into a glittering cluster of genuine citrine druzy and a rich genuine garnet accent. The pendant is suspended from an adjustable handmade sterling silver chain.
Every glass element is cut, carved, and polished individually in my studio, ensuring that the precise mapping of the ridges and the shifting, iridescent illumination belong strictly to this one-of-a-kind piece.
