Part of the Reef Series, the Tropical Reef Necklace explores the lively, otherworldly life forms and intense color palettes found deep within a coral reef ecosystem. Bringing together an intricate landscape of organic silhouettes, this design translates the fluid energy of marine life into a structured, wearable work of art.
I hand-fabricate the distinct, interlocking bezel components and the stylized floral silver elements from sterling silver, treating the outer bezel walls with a hand-applied diamond texture that creates a brilliant sparkle and depth. The focal setting holds a hand-shaped cold-worked glass element displaying a fiery, multi-toned orange gradient. Nestled into this sculptural layout is a rich Mexican Fire Opal accent, balanced by a brilliant teardrop citrine gemstone that suspends gracefully below. The entire composition hangs from an 18" handmade sterling silver link chain
Because I cut, carve, and polish every glass element individually in my studio, the organic flow of the color and the intricate metalwork arrangement belong entirely to this one-of-a-kind piece.
